A Focus on British Heraldry
The Colonial Dames of the 17th Century focuses on the original 13 colonies that eventually formed the United States. Our heraldry collection reflects that part of history. Most of our collection is reflects immigrants from the British Isles, covering Britain, Scotland, and Wales. There is some French heraldry as well.
While the Spanish were also active in the Americas in the 1600s, the Colonial Dames does not have as much information on the heraldry from this area.
